== Summary ==

This acclaimed BBC children’s drama centres on Martin Smith (Barry Angel), a boy with exceptional mathematical ability who is selected to attend an elite school for gifted children. The institution, housed in an imposing manor, conceals a disturbing secret: Martin and the other pupils are being covertly hypnotised and manipulated into contributing to classified military research without their knowledge.

As Martin gradually becomes aware that something is amiss, he attempts to escape. However, he is thwarted by terrifying bird‑like cries implanted deep within his subconscious, a psychological barrier designed to prevent any of the children from leaving.
