== Summary ==

''Commando Cody'' was first released as a cinema serial before later being reedited for television.

Two young scientists, Ted Richards and Joan Gilbert (William Schallert and Aline Towne), arrive at Commando Cody’s combined office and laboratory, where they are greeted and interviewed by Commissioner Henderson. He explains that Cody is both a highly decorated war hero and an accomplished scientist.

Cody maintains a concealed identity, wearing a mask at all times. Upon meeting the new recruits, he informs them that he has enveloped Earth in a protective cloud of cosmic dust in response to a series of missile attacks launched by an unidentified extraterrestrial adversary. Cody then unveils plans for a rocketship, to be constructed in the remote, sparsely populated town of Graphite.

Despite repeated acts of sabotage orchestrated by the Ruler, the self‑styled Evil Alien in Charge, and his agents, the team completes the Rocketship and conducts a successful test flight. One of the Ruler’s operatives crash‑lands on Earth in a small craft and, after being rescued by a human collaborator, presents himself to Cody as a propulsion expert. He offers to enhance the Rocketship's performance in exchange for uranium, concealing his true objective: to steal the vessel and deliver the uranium to the Ruler as part of a broader plan to conquer Earth.

Cody and his colleagues ultimately uncover the deception and thwart the Ruler’s scheme, ensuring the continuation of the mission, and the series.
