== Summary ==
The narrative depicts ''Coonjo'', an evil ''fox yokai'' who unleashes her minions across ''Japan'', prompting the appearance of ''Kotaro Ushiwaka'', a mysterious wanderer capable of harnessing sunlight. Travelling the country, Ushiwaka confronts Coonjo’s followers and defeats her, leading her to summon the ''yokai Aobozu'' for a counterattack.

During his journey, Ushiwaka encounters ''Nyudo'', a drunken strongman who falsely claims expertise in yokai hunting. When Coonjo reappears, Nyudo’s fear is exposed, but Ushiwaka protects him. Coonjo later abducts Nyudo with Aobozu’s help, only to be thwarted again, securing Nyudo as Ushiwaka’s ally.

With her forces depleted, Coonjo seeks new ''supernatural'' allies. Ushiwaka soon meets ''Uragira'', a greedy fox yokai entangled in conflict with the demon ''Onibaba''. After Ushiwaka intervenes, Uragira pledges support while secretly pursuing wealth. Together with Nyudo, the trio travels widely, repeatedly disrupting Coonjo’s schemes.

Coonjo ultimately infuses onigiri with the spirits ''Shirei'', tricking Uragira and Nyudo into eating them and turning against Ushiwaka. He exorcises the spirits and forces a cursed onigiri upon Coonjo, leaving her possessed and wandering aimlessly as the three companions reunite victorious.
