== Summary ==

''Metalder'' is a combat android created in 1945 by ''Dr. Koga Ryūichirō'' for the ''Imperial Japanese Army'', modelled after his son, kamikaze pilot ''Koga Tatsuo''. Rejecting its intended military use, Koga placed Metalder and his support units, ''Springer'', ''Sidephantom'', and ''Metalcharger'', into long‑term dormancy within the ''Silver Carcass facility''. They were reactivated forty‑two years later to oppose the ''Neros Empire'', founded by Koga’s former assistant ''Major Muraki'', now known as ''Kirihara Gōzō'' or ''Godneros''. 

Koga’s death during a staged capture awakened Metalder’s moral consciousness and triggered his first transformation into armoured form. Metalder subsequently waged a prolonged conflict against the Neros Army, ultimately destroying the ''Ghost Bank'' with the assistance of his ally ''Topgunder''. Although Metalder succeeded in killing Godneros, the damage inflicted upon his ''Supergravitational Control Device'' forced his companion ''Kita Hakkō'' to destroy it, preventing Metalder from ever returning to human form. After the fall of the Neros Empire, Metalder continued to wander the Earth accompanied by the robotic canine ''Springer''.
