Summary

Yu Qing, a psychologist with an unconventional family background and a complicated marital history, unexpectedly discovers striking parallels between her own past and the experiences recounted by her patient, Xia Duo. As she guides Xia Duo through therapy, Yu Qing is compelled to confront reflections of her own unresolved struggles, raising unsettling questions about the origins of their shared memories and the deeper significance of their similarities.

Her professional detachment erodes further as she becomes increasingly troubled by recurring nightmares, prompting her to investigate the source of these visions and the connection they may hold to both her personal history and Xia Duo’s. The narrative centres on Yu Qing’s attempt to discern what lies beneath the uncanny resemblance between their experiences and to uncover the truth behind the psychological disturbances that haunt her.
