Summary
The story follows Chen Xiaohua, a notorious layabout known as the couch potato king, and Madam Xiao, an artificial intelligence also known as 2099. Set during a period of instability in the state of Chen, the pair join forces to expose corrupt officials, defend their nation against external threats, and alter the course of destiny. Despite repeatedly experiencing cycles of erased and reset lives, they continue to choose one another, embarking on successive journeys of personal growth and mutual redemption.
Created with formidable capabilities and assigned a specific mission, Madam Xiao is tasked with transforming Chen Xiaohua into a more disciplined and capable leader. Through her guidance, the once-idle Chen Xiaohua begins to abandon his complacent lifestyle and strives to become a diligent ruler worthy of his position.
As their relationship deepens, the boundaries between artificial intelligence and genuine emotion begin to blur. While their lives are repeatedly reset and their existence threatened by forces beyond their control, the two struggle against the limitations of the system that governs them. Blending romance, fantasy, and science fiction, the story explores themes of fate, identity, personal transformation, and the power of love to overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles.
