Summary
After being dismissed from three companies within a single week, Mou Ru encounters a street promoter advertising a life-simulation game device. Upon testing the machine, he is transported into a virtual reality in which he relives his life as an eighteen-year-old high school student. Determined to alter the course of his future, Mou Ru defies expectations and enrols in the Shanghai Drama Academy alongside his close friend Li Xue Er.
During their high school years, however, an accident leaves Li Xue Er with a facial injury, compelling her to abandon her aspirations of becoming an actress and pursue directing instead. In contrast, Mou Ru follows the acting path he had long desired, gaining admission to the academy's acting programme and embarking on a markedly different future.
Within the simulated world, Mou Ru experiences an idealised university life, achieving both personal and professional fulfilment while developing a romantic relationship with the popular student He Chu. As he embraces the opportunities afforded by his altered circumstances, he is confronted with the consequences of rewriting his past and the impact of his choices on those around him.
