Summary
Shiratori Sakuto, aged twenty‑eight, possesses the cognitive abilities of a young child. He is employed by Dream Flower Service, a flower distribution organisation established to provide vocational opportunities for individuals facing social or developmental challenges. During a routine delivery with his colleague, Yanagawa Ryūichi, Sakuto brings a bouquet of roses to the residence of Mochizuki Haruka. Unaware of his intellectual disability, Haruka misinterprets his behaviour, becomes alarmed, and attempts to contact the authorities.
Haruka is employed at a brain physiology research institute where Professor Hachisuka conducts studies on the enhancement of cognitive function. His laboratory has achieved successful results in experimental trials on a white mouse named Algernon. Subsequent medical intervention based on this research leads to a dramatic transformation in Sakuto, who acquires exceptionally advanced intellectual capabilities following surgical treatment.
