Summary
Sydney Bristow is recruited to serve as an international operative for what she believes to be a covert division of the Central Intelligence Agency. The classified nature of her work places increasing strain on her personal relationships, particularly her social life and romantic commitments. Her situation becomes far more perilous when she discovers that the organisation employing her is not affiliated with the CIA, revealing that she has been working for a clandestine entity with its own undisclosed agenda.
