Summary
In 2050, the organisation Alice facilitates regulated time travel, allowing clients to revisit deceased relatives while monitoring illegal temporal activity. Agents Yoon Tae‑yi and Yoo Min‑hyuk travel to 1992 Seoul to retrieve the Book of Prophecy, a text predicting individual destinies and the eventual end of time travel. The rogue faction known as the Teacher attempts to seize the book, resulting in the murder of Tae‑yi’s father. Tae‑yi escapes with the final page and later disappears after learning she is pregnant, rejecting Min‑hyuk’s advice to terminate the pregnancy due to temporal‑radiation risks.
Living under the name Park Sun‑young, Tae‑yi raises her son, Park Jin‑gyeom, who is born with alexithymia and exhibits involuntary time‑manipulation abilities. After Sun‑young’s murder in 2010, Jin‑gyeom is supported by Detective Go Hyeon‑seok and classmate Kim Do‑yeon. By 2020, he becomes a detective and uncovers the existence of time travellers, the operations of Alice, the activities of the Teacher, and the circumstances surrounding his mother’s death.
