Summary
Aliens in the Family is a short‑lived domestic sitcom centred on the Brody household, a blended family formed when human single father Doug Brody is abducted by an alien spacecraft and subsequently falls in love with Cookie, a divorced extraterrestrial with children of her own. The couple marry and settle on Earth, where their combined family attempts to navigate everyday life despite significant cultural and interpersonal differences.
Doug’s children include Adam, aged nine, and Heather, aged fourteen. Cookie’s children are Spit, also fourteen; Snizzy, aged ten; and Bobut, an infant whose behaviour is frequently unruly and who possesses limited mind‑control abilities. The household is further supported by Sally, a nanny employed to care for Bobut and compelled to remain in the role due to his influence. The series uses the family’s unusual circumstances to explore themes of domestic adjustment, cultural contrast, and the challenges of merging two very different worlds.
