Summary
Cryogenic researcher Kazuko (Takunaga) is experimenting in the laboratory with her colleagues Jiro (Kaji) and Yurika (Saito) when a massive earthquake strikes the facility. Seeking shelter inside a cold‑sleep chamber, the trio is accidentally frozen. They awaken many years later to discover that Earth is now ruled by highly evolved Apemen who have driven humanity to the brink of extinction.
Joined by one of the few surviving humans, Godo (Ushio), they become entangled in escalating tensions between rival ape factions—gorillas and chimpanzees—while searching for a way to undo their unintended journey into the future.
With the aid of a conventional flying saucer, they eventually manage to reverse their temporal displacement. Yet when they awaken in the ruined laboratory, the ending leaves open the possibility that their extraordinary adventure may have been nothing more than a dream.
