Summary
Arrow follows billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), who claims to have spent five years stranded on Lian Yu, a remote and enigmatic island in the North China Sea. Upon returning to Starling City—later renamed Star City—Oliver adopts the identity of a hooded vigilante, using his mastery of the bow to confront crime, corruption, and the powerful forces undermining his home.
Over the course of the series, Oliver builds a team of allies, including former soldier John Diggle (David Ramsey), gifted I.T. specialist and hacker Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), former assassin Sara Lance (Caity Lotz), aspiring vigilante Roy Harper (Colton Haynes), Oliver’s sister Thea Queen (Willa Holland), and attorney‑turned‑crime‑fighter Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy).
The first five seasons incorporate a parallel narrative told through Oliver’s flashbacks, revealing the formative experiences that shaped his transformation into the Green Arrow. Beginning in season seven, the series introduces flash‑forwards centred on Oliver’s children, William (Ben Lewis) and Mia (Katherine McNamara), exploring how present‑day events influence their future and the enduring legacy of the Green Arrow.
