Summary
A severe typhoon striking Japan causes a transport vehicle carrying uranium to be swept off a mountain road and into the sea, prompting an investigation by the National Atomic Energy Center and the police. Reporter Goro Ryouji, pursuing an exclusive lead on the crash, joins Dr. Ukyo and Detective Yamato at the site, where rising radiation levels and a recovered flashlight from the wreckage suggest the cargo—Uran X—has been disturbed. Their search leads to a cavern known as the “Tengu’s Great Trumpet Shell,” and moments later a massive reptilian creature emerges from the ocean.
Dr. Ukyo identifies the creature, named Agon, as a mutated Jurassic dinosaur likely altered by nuclear testing. As radiation readings intensify along the coast, Agon comes ashore near the Atomic Research Center, triggering an evacuation. During the chaos, research assistant Satsuki Shizukawa becomes trapped in the forest, and the monster’s advance opens a fissure that causes her to fall beneath the collapsing ground, setting the stage for the ensuing crisis.
