Summary
Avataro Sentai Donbrothers centres on a team of five heroes inspired by the Japanese folktale Momotaro, represented through avatars of a dog, pheasant, monkey, and oni who unite to battle malevolent supernatural forces. Their abilities derive from the Avataro Gears, devices that allow them to load digital avatars and perform an Avatar Change, granting specialised combat forms. The team’s primary adversaries are the Oni, manifestations of distorted human desires, and the shadowy organisation supporting them, the Noto.
The narrative begins when high‑school student Haruka Kitou unexpectedly gains mysterious powers and is instructed by Jin Momoi to locate his son, Taro Momoi, and pledge loyalty to him. As Haruka becomes involved with Taro and the emerging team, she gradually encounters the allies Jin foretold and uncovers the broader conflict surrounding the Donbrothers. The series follows the unfolding of these relationships and the group’s battles as the larger mystery behind their powers and enemies is revealed.
