Summary
The narrative centres on Michael Britten (Jason Isaacs), a detective with the Los Angeles Police Department who survives a severe car accident alongside his wife Hannah (Laura Allen) and their son Rex (Dylan Minnette). In the aftermath, Britten begins alternating between two distinct realities each time he sleeps: one in which Hannah died in the crash and another in which Rex was the victim instead. Unable to determine which reality is genuine, he continues his police work while drawing on clues, insights, and emotional cues from each timeline to assist in solving cases in the other.
