Summary
The secret society Egos initiates a campaign of targeted assassinations against senior officials within the National Defence Ministry, signalling the beginning of its bid for global domination. In response, General Kurama summons four young operatives who have been undergoing specialised training abroad. They are soon joined by Diane Martin, an FBI investigator whose father was murdered by Egos. Together, the five don advanced powered suits and form the Battle Fever Team—a name reflecting the contemporary popularity of the term “fever.”
The team’s ultimate asset is the Battle Fever Robo, a giant combat robot constructed to counter Egos’ escalating threats. Although Egos attempts to sabotage the Robo’s development, the monsters dispatched to halt its construction are defeated one after another. The organisation then deploys the “younger brother” of the Buffalo Monster, a massive robot duplicate of its predecessor, but the completed Battle Fever Robo is launched in time to destroy it and the subsequent mechanical threats that follow.
Despite suffering the loss of two members—the original Miss America and Battle Cossack—the team continues its mission with newly appointed replacements. Their campaign culminates in a direct assault on Egos’ headquarters, where they are captured and fed into the organisation’s Monster Making Machine, intended to transform them into raw material for a Battle Fever‑class monster. The team escapes, destroys the device, and ultimately defeats the enigmatic deity Satan Egos using the Lightning Light Sword Rocketter technique.
The introduction of giant robots in this series proved transformative; the format became a defining feature of the franchise, and the Super Sentai series has continued without interruption ever since.
