Summary
The series centres on forms of bestial horror, deliberately avoiding conventional monster clichés in favour of psychological and supernatural themes. Several episodes explore characters whose obsessions distort their identities, such as The Dummy and What Big Eyes, both of which depict men who believe themselves to be the creatures they study. Other instalments, including Buddy Boy, Special Offer, and Baby, incorporate overt supernatural elements. Only During Barty’s Party features literal beasts as the primary threat, focusing on an incursion of unusually large rats.
