Summary
Beforeigners is set in Oslo, where individuals from the Stone Age, the Viking Age, and the 19th century suddenly emerge in Bjørvika Bay. These temporal migrants, known as Beforeigners, attempt to assimilate into modern Norwegian society.
Senior detective Lars Haaland and Viking‑era recruit Alfhildr Enginnsdóttir investigate the murder of a Stone Age woman while Alfhildr and fellow shield‑maiden Urðr assist their former commander, Thorir Hund.
Lars’s daughter Ingrid and her friend Maddie stage a false “time migration” during Russefeiring; however, Maddie later reappears older and experiencing visions of the past. She ultimately embraces the arrival of Olaf the Stout.
