Summary
Set in the year 2029, the story unfolds in a society where androids are integrated into everyday life and routinely employed in a wide range of roles, often replacing humans in menial occupations. Within this context, an advanced humanoid robot named Arisa is covertly imported into Russia from China under the auspices of the CRONOS corporation. Shortly after her arrival, Arisa accidentally kills a man who attempts to use her as a sex robot and subsequently escapes.
Her capacity to harm a human reveals that she does not adhere to Asimov’s Three Laws of Robotics; instead, she is programmed to protect her designated family unit—of which she considers herself a member—by any means necessary. During her flight, she encounters a young girl, Sonya, with whom she forms an immediate and automatic bond, assuming the role of the child’s guardian.
