Summary
The narrative follows Mia Akerlund, a medical student at the University of Freiburg, who becomes increasingly involved in the emerging field of biohacking. During her studies, she meets Jasper, a gifted biology student, and Niklas, Jasper’s socially withdrawn roommate.
Mia’s interest in experimental biotechnology leads her into the clandestine sphere of illegal genetic research. Parallel to her academic pursuits, she conducts a personal investigation into the circumstances surrounding her brother’s death.
When she uncovers evidence that significant biohacking research has been compromised and appropriated by dangerous actors, Mia is forced to confront a critical dilemma: whether to safeguard her friends or pursue retribution for her brother’s death.
