Summary
The narrative centres on a group of five students and their preferred instructor, who together form the Science Club at Blake Holsey High, a boarding school situated in southern Ontario. The institution’s name is a deliberate play on the term black hole, reflecting the school’s persistent association with anomalous and preternatural phenomena. Such events frequently affect the student body, often arising as disproportionately severe consequences of otherwise minor acts of mischief.
The Science Club undertakes an informal investigation into the origins and implications of these disturbances. Their inquiries focus on the possible connections between a wormhole located on campus, a levitating Qigong sphere, and Pearadyne Industries, a research facility adjacent to the school that was destroyed in an unexplained incident several years earlier. Together, these elements form the basis of the overarching mystery that defines their experiences at Blake Holsey High.
