Summary
Blade follows Krista Starr, a U.S. military veteran who returns home from service in Iraq to discover that her brother, Zack Starr, has died under mysterious circumstances. Unbeknownst to his family, Zack had been operating as a vampire familiar, a human servant who performs daytime tasks for vampires in the hope of eventually being transformed.
Determined to uncover the truth and avenge her brother’s death, Krista infiltrates the vampire underworld. Her investigation brings her into conflict with Marcus Van Sciver, a high‑ranking member of the House of Chthon, one of the most powerful vampire lineages. Van Sciver captures Krista and forcibly turns her into a vampire, binding her to the very world she sought to expose. His lieutenant, Chase, becomes increasingly hostile toward Krista, driven by jealousy and a desire to maintain her own position within the Chthon hierarchy.
Krista is subsequently recruited by Blade
