Summary
Billy Barnes’s life is upended in an instant when three shape‑shifting aliens, Zerek, Kerek and Derek, emerge from his toilet. The trio, known collectively as the Blobheads, have travelled from the Planet Blob to retrieve Billy’s infant brother Silas, whom they identify as the Most High Emperor of the Universe. Acting under the directives of the Great Computer and Kerek’s leadership, they attempt to transport Silas across the galaxy, but their mission collapses due to Derek’s chronic incompetence.
Unable to return home until the next scheduled interstellar transit, the Blobheads are forced to remain on Earth and coexist with Billy. Their chaotic behaviour, combined with Billy’s resentment over Silas’s already elevated status within the family, creates an ongoing struggle as both sides attempt to adapt to one another.
