Summary

The Boys is set in a contemporary world where superpowered individuals, known as Supes, are publicly celebrated as heroes and operate under the management of Vought International, a powerful corporation that commercialises their abilities and carefully curates their public image. Behind this façade, many Supes are corrupt, narcissistic, or dangerously irresponsible, engaging in misconduct and violence that remains largely hidden from the general population.

The narrative centres on two opposing groups. The Boys are a team of vigilantes. initially backed by the CIA and later acting independently, who seek to expose Vought’s abuses and hold its superheroes accountable. Their principal adversaries are The Seven, Vought’s elite superhero team and the corporation’s most powerful asset. The conflict between these factions drives the series, exploring themes of power, corruption, corporate influence, and the consequences of unchecked celebrity.
