Summary
Set in Western Siberia in 2012, the narrative centres on a classified scientific installation located ten kilometres beneath the region’s remote steppes. The facility, known as Project BUNKER, houses a team of eminent researchers who have spent three years conducting an undisclosed experimental programme. Life in the subterranean complex is marked by isolation, with the circulation of an anonymous and unexpectedly popular erotic manuscript providing one of the few diversions available to the personnel.
The arrival of a new specialist, a veterinarian, despite the absence of any animal research at the site, raises questions among the existing staff regarding the true nature of the project. As the work continues, the scientists encounter a dangerous and previously unknown lifeform within the depths of the installation, forcing them to confront the implications of their research and the secrecy surrounding the operation.
