Summary
Category 6: Day of Destruction is a disaster film that follows Andy Goodman, a veteran meteorologist who discovers an unprecedented storm system forming undetected over the western United States. As the system intensifies and moves toward Chicago, colliding with a severe heat wave, a southern warm front, and an early Arctic cold front, multiple intersecting storylines unfold involving the strained regional power grid, corporate negligence at energy supplier Lexer, and a journalist’s investigation into infrastructure vulnerabilities.
When a whistle-blower's attempted hack triggers a cascading power failure across the Midwest, the city is left defenceless as the storm evolves into a Category 6 hurricane. The film follows Goodman, utility executive Mitch Benson, and reporter Amy Harkin as they struggle to protect their families and reveal the truth amid the escalating disaster.
