Summary
In this series, Earth is among a thousand planets targeted for destruction by the expansionist Zorn Empire. As the empire annihilates the planet Shidon, two parents launch their five children into space, hoping they will reach Earth, assimilate among its inhabitants, and ultimately prevent Zorn’s impending assault. Before their deaths, the parents also construct a suite of advanced super‑vehicles and create Arthur G6, a robot guardian assigned to watch over the siblings.
Upon reaching adulthood, the children live ordinary professional lives while secretly forming the heroic team Fiveman. The eldest, Manabu (Fuji), is a psychology lecturer who transforms into Five Red, wielder of the V‑Sword. His younger brother Ken (Shindachiya), a judo instructor, becomes Five Blue, fighting with weaponised yo‑yos and flying discs. The third brother, Bunya (Kobayashi), a language teacher, serves as Five Black, a karate specialist armed with the Power Cutter. Their elder sister Sumi (Miyata), a mathematics teacher, becomes Five Pink, the team’s computer expert and user of the Cutie Circle.
The youngest sibling, Remi (Hayase), a music teacher, transforms into Five Yellow, a kung‑fu practitioner whose flute doubles as a weapon capable of unleashing the devastating Melody Cut. The team travels by motorcycle but also utilises a sophisticated multi‑component transport system created by their parents: the Sky Alpha truck, which converts into an aircraft, towing the Carrier Beta trailer. Carrier Beta houses the Land Gamma vehicle, and all three units combine to form the giant robot Five Robo. Additional configurations, including the Star Carrier and Super Five Robo, can be assembled as needed.
Their adversary is Medo (Matsui), the Galactic Emperor who is enraged that Earth alone resists his conquest among the thousands of targeted worlds. From his flagship Valgaia, he orders the loyal but inept Captain Garoa (Ishikawa) to dispatch waves of expendable soldiers to attack the planet. When these inevitably fail, a more formidable monster‑of‑the‑week, in classic Super Sentai fashion, is unleashed to challenge the Fiveman team.
