Summary
The evil Bolt Cyber Army launches a devastating assault on the prestigious Academy, annihilating its facilities and leaving only three survivors. These survivors, determined to honour their fallen comrades—join forces with new allies to form the Liveman team, dedicated to defending Earth from Bolt’s escalating threats.
Their leader, Yusuke (Shima), transforms into Red Falcon, wielding Falcon Power and the Falcon Sword. Jo (Nishimura) becomes Yellow Lion, fighting with Lion Power and his formidable Lion Punch. Megumi (Mori), as Blue Dolphin, channels Dolphin Power and attacks with her signature Dolphin Arrows.
The original trio is later joined by two additional warriors. Tetsuya (Yamaguchi), transformed into Black Bison, wields the Bison Rod and fights in memory of his older brother, who was killed in Bolt’s attack. Junichi (Kawamoto), as Green Jackal, uses the Jackal Cutter to avenge the death of his baby sister at Bolt’s hands.
Operating from the Machine Buffalo mobile base, the team deploys their animal‑themed mecha: the Lion, Dolphin, and Falcon machines combine to form Live Robo, while the Bison and Jackal machines unite separately as the smaller Live Boxer. These two robots can further merge into the powerful Live Combination Five.
Their archenemy is Dr. Kemp / Pierce (Nakada), Bolt’s chief scientist and a master of dark bio‑engineering. He commands an expendable army of Jinma foot soldiers and unleashes a series of engineered monsters to challenge the Liveman team. He has also recruited three former Academy students, once friends of the heroes, to fight for Bolt, though their schemes are inevitably thwarted.
