Summary
Intended as a prototype super‑soldier designed to replace Britain’s volunteer army, the clone is created by the eminent scientist Dr Victor Blenkinsop. To his dismay, Blenkinsop soon discovers that his experimental subject bears little resemblance to the formidable military asset he envisioned. Instead of exhibiting aggression or combat readiness, the clone demonstrates a markedly gentle and affectionate disposition, rendering it unsuitable for its intended role.
Realising the implications of his failed experiment, Blenkinsop absconds with the clone in an effort to identify the neurological mechanism that might activate its latent superhuman capabilities. Their flight places them in direct opposition to Colonel Black and an elite government security unit tasked with locating and eliminating both the scientist and his creation.
