Summary
21st-century scientist goes back in time and solves crimes.
Yang Qiuchi, a professional forensic doctor from the twenty‑first century, is transported to the Yongle era of the Ming dynasty. Possessing advanced forensic knowledge and modern diagnostic techniques, he quickly attracts the attention of local authorities, including the county magistrate and the Embroidered Uniform Guard. His expertise enables him to revive Bai Sumei, who had entered a state resembling death, through emergency respiration and other contemporary medical procedures.
During his investigations, Yang Qiuchi forms an alliance with the scholar Long Zixu and the martial artist Song Yun’er, creating a multidisciplinary team capable of addressing complex criminal cases. Through a series of encounters, he acquires modern items such as a pistol, computer, and electric bicycle, which he employs alongside his forensic training to analyse evidence, infiltrate bandit strongholds, and resolve unusual cases.
Yang Qiuchi’s medical proficiency also draws the attention of Qin Zhiruo, and he successfully treats the injured Liu Ruobing, further intertwining his professional responsibilities with emerging personal relationships. Over time, he advances from apprentice to a recognised figure within official circles and ultimately receives commendation for assisting in the imperial suppression of rebellion.
