Summary
Howard Silk has spent thirty quiet years at the Office of Interchange in Berlin, unaware that his routine job masks a gateway between two parallel Earths. Created in 1987 during a failed East German experiment, the Alpha and Prime worlds began diverging—most dramatically after a 1996 flu pandemic ravaged the Prime world. Accusations of biowarfare sparked a cold war, with counterparts deployed as covert operatives. Howard’s own Prime counterpart is a hardened spy, and when a rogue Prime faction moves to strike back at Alpha, Howard is drawn into a conflict he never knew existed.
