Summary
In the near future, a series of global catastrophes drastically reduces the world's population. In Japan, a mysterious piece of advanced technology known as EXE is discovered within a geological formation exposed by the disasters. Responsibility for its research and management falls to the Special Mission Organization Libra, a secret agency operated by the Japanese government.
As nations around the world seek to gain control of EXE, agents are dispatched to Japan in an effort to obtain the technology. In response, Libra develops a powered suit system that harnesses EXE's capabilities. The suit, known as Cutburst, is entrusted to the organisation's newest recruit, Doji, who uses it to confront a variety of powerful adversaries. However, Doji soon learns that other EXE-powered suits exist. Among their users is a mysterious figure known as the Arbiter, leader of the private organisation Judge, whose true intentions remain unclear.
