Summary
A sudden storm awakens Chung Ting Kwok, a guerrilla fighter from the Second Sino‑Japanese War, who has been preserved in ice for more than seventy years. Revived in 2018, he emerges into a world he no longer recognises and begins searching for the family he left behind. What he finds instead is a painful disappointment: his son Ho Woh Ping survives on fraudulent welfare claims, while his grandson Ho Wing Nin exploits feng shui to deceive clients for profit. Despite his efforts, Chung Ting Kwok is powerless to correct their behaviour.
His return entangles him further in modern‑day chaos when Wing Nin, becomes caught in a romantic triangle involving the secretly wealthy Yung Chi Kiu, the earnest Chong Ho Sun, and influential businessman Tong Chak Ching. From covering up the truth behind a murder to being drawn into a ruthless struggle for money, Chung Ting Kwok witnesses his descendants sliding deeper into moral ruin. Determined to restore honour to his family, he vows to save them, no matter the cost.
