Summary
Misaki Kanon is a young woman who moves to the big city with aspirations of becoming a singer. At first, her life unfolds as she hoped, she finds love and steadily works toward her dream. However, her world collapses when her boyfriend betrays her, leaving Kanon disillusioned, unable to trust others, and adrift from the dream that once defined her.
As a child in a remote mountain village, Kanon once sang the sacred song of prayer, a melody said to resonate with the dormant Daimajin. Now, in the wake of her heartbreak, she must rediscover that lost song to reclaim her identity and perhaps play a role in saving the world. A mysterious man from her home village has begun searching for her, believing she is destined to aid him and his comrades when the time of crisis arrives.
Meanwhile, strange creatures begin appearing throughout the city, possessing unsuspecting humans and sowing chaos. Kanon’s forgotten past and the looming threat are on a collision course, drawing her toward a fate she can no longer ignore.
