Summary
The programme’s title, Doomwatch, served as an acronym for the Department for the Observation and Measurement of Science, a fictional government agency established to monitor and regulate scientific developments. The department was led by Dr. Spencer Quist, an abrasive yet incorruptible scientist who had little patience for the political and commercial interests attempting to influence his work.
