Summary
Dr. Horrible, an aspiring supervillain who documents his schemes on his video blog, is determined to earn admission into the prestigious Evil League of Evil, led by the fearsome “thoroughbred of sin,” Bad Horse. His ambitions are continually undermined by the self‑important superhero Captain Hammer, whose public grandstanding routinely disrupts Horrible’s plans.
Horrible’s carefully ordered life becomes further complicated when he falls in love with Penny, a kind‑hearted and optimistic advocate for the homeless whom he meets at the laundromat. Matters worsen when Penny begins dating the boorish, self‑absorbed Hammer after he seemingly rescues her from danger. Caught between his desire to impress the League and his growing feelings for Penny, Horrible must decide whether he can overcome his own shortcomings to achieve villainous success, defeat his heroic rival, and still win the woman he loves.
