Summary
Based on Jim Butcher’s best‑selling urban‑fantasy novels, The Dresden Files follows Harry Dresden (Paul Blackthorne), a Chicago‑based private investigator who combines conventional detective work with genuine supernatural ability. While most citizens and law‑enforcement officials interpret assaults, kidnappings, and homicides as the actions of human perpetrators, Dresden frequently identifies the influence of supernatural entities operating beyond ordinary perception.
Dresden is a practising wizard, the only one openly advertising his services in the Chicago telephone directory, and serves both as an independent investigator and as a consultant to the police on cases involving inexplicable or anomalous phenomena. His work routinely brings him into conflict with dark forces, magical adversaries, and otherworldly threats, all of which he confronts with a combination of professional resolve and a characteristically wry sense of humour.
