Summary
Japan and several allied nations establish the Vader Institute, an international research taskforce initially charged with analysing a mysterious extra-terrestrial artifact. Drawing on the technology recovered from this object, the institute begins development of the E‑device, an experimental powered combat suit intended to serve as a countermeasure against potential alien threats.
The E‑device integrates ultralight alloy armour, adaptive nanomachines, and an energy system of unknown origin. Personnel authorised to operate the suit are designated Evolvers.
A few years after the institute’s research begins, a hostile species known as the Efreet launches a sudden incursion against Earth. In response, the Vader Institute accelerates E‑device production, rapidly selects and trains suitable candidates, and deploys Evolver teams worldwide to repel the attacks.
