Summary
Set in the near future, the series follows a span of thirty‑three years during which a broad ensemble of characters confront the escalating effects of global climate change. Environmental degradation has become a defining feature of daily life for the planet’s population: air pollution, food scarcity, widespread flooding, and recurrent forest fires are now routine conditions. Despite the development of advanced technologies, many of these challenges remain unresolved.
The narrative begins in 2037, after which the storyline advances through multiple time periods. Structured as an anthology, each episode is situated in a distinct era and centres on a new set of characters whose experiences reflect the evolving state of the world. The series concludes in 2070, presenting a long‑term view of humanity’s adaptation to an increasingly unstable environment.
