Summary
Fallout is set after the Great War of 2077, a nuclear conflict between the United States and China that devastates an alternate‑history Earth shaped by post‑war nuclear innovation and a retro futuristic culture. In the aftermath, survivors shelter in Vaults, later revealed to be facilities engineered by Vault‑Tec and associated corporations to conduct long‑term behavioural experiments on their inhabitants.
By 2296, the narrative follows Lucy, a resident of Vault 33, who enters the ruins of Los Angeles to locate her abducted father. Her journey intersects with Maximus, a squire of the Brotherhood of Steel, and Cooper Howard, a former actor turned ghoul bounty hunter, each pursuing personal objectives that complicate Lucy’s mission.
The second season centres on Lucy and Cooper’s search for information in New Vegas concerning Vault‑Tec, Cooper’s missing family, and Lucy’s father. Concurrently, Maximus, newly elevated within the Brotherhood, confronts the organisation’s internal corruption and the growing conflict between its doctrine and his own moral judgement.
