Summary
Astronaut John Crichton, participating in an experimental space‑flight programme, is unexpectedly propelled across the universe after a test manoeuvre goes catastrophically wrong. He emerges in the midst of a vast interstellar conflict, surrounded by alien species equipped with advanced and often lethal technologies.
