Summary
The series follows Tan Choon Lim, a disillusioned undertaker's assistant who discovers a mysterious lighter with the ability to transport him through time. Recognising the opportunities presented by the device, he begins travelling to the past in search of valuable historical artefacts, intending to profit from their acquisition.
However, his actions draw him into the lives of prominent historical figures and expose him to events that have shaped the course of history. As the consequences of his interference become increasingly apparent, Tan Choon Lim is forced to reassess his ambitions, confront his personal shortcomings, and reconsider the direction of his life.
Through his experiences across different periods, he gradually develops a deeper understanding of himself and the significance of the people and events he encounters.
