Summary
The series centres on the experiences of two teenagers, Brett Delaney of Australia and Hannah O’Flaherty of Ireland, who discover a mysterious portal that allows instantaneous travel between their respective countries. Their ability to move between hemispheres exposes them to contrasting cultures, environments, and family dynamics, while drawing them into a series of shared adventures.
Hannah O’Flaherty is a typical sixteen‑year‑old student residing at O’Keeffe’s Boarding School in Galway, Ireland, under the supervision of the school’s headmistress, Miss Murphy. During a routine trip to the basement, Hannah accidentally activates a concealed portal that transports her to Perth, Australia. On the other side she encounters Brett Miller, an ordinary Australian teenager living with his mother Jackie, who has recently remarried.
Brett later takes a job as a cleaner at Hannah’s boarding school, enabling the two to maintain their cross‑continental connection. However, Brett’s newly blended family, comprising his stepfather Craig and stepbrother Wayne, introduces complications that strain his friendship with Hannah and challenge their efforts to navigate life between two worlds.
