Summary
After war erupts in the Middle East and a severe economic downturn triggers mass unemployment and homelessness across the United States, the President undertakes a series of diplomatic missions to stabilise the crisis. When Air Force One crashes and the President is presumed dead, the U.S. military quietly seizes control in what amounts to an invisible coup, establishing a new authoritarian faction known as the “Regime.”
Four service members from different branches of the armed forces are abruptly arrested on undisclosed charges, one later reveals he was ordered to assassinate the President and refused, leading to fabricated accusations. Imprisoned without explanation, the group is unexpectedly liberated by unknown rebels. Forced into alliance, they join a broader resistance movement determined to overthrow the military government, restore constitutional rule, and return freedom to the American people.
