Summary
In the opening story, three teenagers become entangled in the schemes of former Nazi officer Karl von Gelb, who is determined to “reverse the verdict of the last war” and exact revenge on his old enemies. Acting under the guidance of MI5’s Colonel Buchan, the trio foil Gelb’s plan to fire Polaris missiles at London from a hijacked nuclear submarine. This establishes the template for subsequent adventures, with the young protagonists repeatedly thwarting Gelb’s elaborate and increasingly audacious threats to Britain’s security.
