Summary
Leah, an orphan adopted by Joy and David, is regarded as the model child, polite, diligent, and unfailingly well‑behaved. Unbeknownst to her, she has a twin brother, Lee, who lives nearby with his adoptive parents Ken and Verity. In stark contrast to Leah, Lee is rebellious, impulsive, and frequently in trouble.
Both siblings begin experiencing unsettling visions in which they see the other’s reflection in mirrors. Leah discovers she can mentally reach out to Lee, stopping him mid‑act during some of his more reckless behaviour, while Lee’s influence emboldens her to push back against the rigid conformity expected at school. Without realising it, they even share the same psychiatrist, Oliver, who remains unaware of their connection.
Leah’s friend Ruth steals the ring Leah has worn since infancy, one half of a yin‑yang symbol. Lee possesses the matching half, and when he notices Ruth wearing Leah’s ring, he feels inexplicably drawn to her. As the twins’ psychic link intensifies, both begin to see through each other’s eyes and sense an imminent threat centred around the old clocktower.
