Summary
Recovering from severe burns sustained during a mission near the Sun, Lieutenant Donton receives a chance to prove himself when the crew of Genesis 7 undertakes an expedition to Venus. After a brief return to Earth to repair both the spacecraft and Donton’s injuries, he is tasked with performing a high‑risk aerocapture manoeuvre. His abilities are ultimately tested when he pilots Little G, the Genesis 7 lander, through the planet’s hostile atmosphere and down to its barren surface.
