Summary
The series presents episodic espionage narratives that combine action, gadgetry, disguise work, and recurrent peril. April Dancer and Mark Slate undertake assignments across a variety of international settings, including operations involving the rescue of abducted royalty, the disruption of blackmail schemes, and the prevention of THRUSH’s strategic initiatives.
Although April is frequently depicted employing intelligence, improvisation, and technical skill, many episodes conclude with Mark intervening to extract her from danger, a pattern reflective of the gender conventions prevalent in 1960s adventure television. Notable plots include April assuming the identity of a princess to undermine a vizier’s conspiracy and the recovery of a stolen “Superman” Vitamin Q formula.
