Summary
The sitcom The Girl with Something Extra starred Sally Field as the title character, Sally Burton, whose “something extra” was a powerful form of ESP that allowed her to read other people’s thoughts. At the start of the series, Sally and her new husband John Burton have just married, and Sally decides that their wedding night is the appropriate moment to reveal her telepathic ability.
John’s initial shock disrupts their plans, and he briefly walks out, unsettled by the implications of Sally’s gift. The couple later reconcile and attempt to build as ordinary a life as possible, despite the complications created by Sally’s mind‑reading abilities.
